Sammantha Cree is an Australian ceramic artist, currently living in London and working from a shared studio space in East London. Over the past nine years, her practice has grown into an exploration of form and function, balancing timeless techniques with a contemporary aesthetic, resulting in pieces that invite people to pause and connect with their everyday rituals. Cree’s work is rooted in sustainability and place; she uses recycled and reclaimed clays alongside traditional glazes, incorporating found materials such as ash and rust. Combined with reduction firings, these elements create unique surfaces and textures, grounding each piece in its environment and producing one-off works within collections of multiples.
