A group of three pedestal bowls, each built from two wheel-thrown components joined into a single form. The outer clay is left unglazed, grounding the pieces in natural tones, while carved and thrown lines give each its own pattern. Pedestal forms have raised objects of significance throughout history, in ritual and religious life. Sammantha made these as an invitation to elevate the things that sustain us, to give what we value a place of importance. Fired in reduction and oxidation.

  • Toasted | 26cm x 18cm approx. 
  • Carbon | 27cm x 16cm approx. 

Work from the collection is available to pre-order from 1 September. The exhibition runs in store from 8 to 13 September. After that, all work is ready to collect from the shop, or for dispatch, from 14 September.

Part of the Hope Collection, launching at Fodder Hampstead on 8th September 2026 in collaboration with I Have This Thing With Ceramics. 20% of all Hope Collection sales throughout September are donated to Hope Unlimited Charitable Trust (registered charity no. 1013880).

Bio

Sammantha Cree is an Australian ceramic artist, currently living in London and working from a shared studio space in East London. Over the past nine years, her practice has grown into an exploration of form and function, balancing timeless techniques with a contemporary aesthetic, resulting in pieces that invite people to pause and connect with their everyday rituals. Cree’s work is rooted in sustainability and place; she uses recycled and reclaimed clays alongside traditional glazes, incorporating found materials such as ash and rust. Combined with reduction firings, these elements create unique surfaces and textures, grounding each piece in its environment and producing one-off works within collections of multiples.
