Cara throws these bottles tall and slender, then hand-cuts 5-6 facets from the shoulders to the base. The thickly applied white glaze breaks over the ridges - lighter on the edges, pooled in the cuts.

Each one's different. Heights range from 18-22cm, organic shapes with narrow openings (around 10-12mm). Made for single stems or small branches - the narrow neck holds them upright and they are weighted to the base for stability. 

They look good alone as tall slender figures, or grouped together.

Bio

Cara was born and raised in Scotland, with ceramic experience gained in London, Stockholm, rural Denmark and Cumbria. She is now based in Highland Perthshire where she works from her home studio. Her beautiful, elegant silhouettes are subtly decorated with earthy hues. A very fine balance between glazed and unglazed stoneware make each object incredibly tactile to hold and use. She is unafraid to weave her politics and personal experiences into her work and in recent years has been researching the use of waste and wild materials in an effort to deindustrialise her practice.
