Christmas, Answered

What are the best handmade Christmas gifts from British makers?

Every piece at Fodder is made by an independent UK maker, so it's all handmade. Our most-loved Christmas gifts are handmade ceramics like Lily Pearmain's mugs and salt pigs, hand-poured candles from Homework and Evermore London, and hand-stitched leather from MW Makes. Everything is made to be used every day, not saved for best.

What are the best handmade gifts for him?

Plenty, and much of it unisex. Caroline Dickinson's reworked shirts, MW Makes leather envelopes and card holders, and Homework's unisex Eau de Parfum. Pairs socks come in larger sizes, and Dor & Tan and Scree Ceramics make big mugs for big appetites. All handmade, all made to be used.

What's a good handmade gift for someone who has everything?

Go for a one-off piece they'd never buy themselves: a hand-thrown vase, an investment ceramic, or one of Caroline Dickinson's reworked shirts, each one different. Our We Three Kings guide gathers the heirloom gifts for exactly this.

What are the best handmade stocking fillers under £30?

Hand-painted ceramic Diddy Bowls from Jode Pankhurst at £18, MW Makes leather keyrings for just £15, hand-dipped beeswax candles starting at £5 per pair, cold-pressed soaps from £7 and cosy Pairs socks which start at £9. We have these and many more handmade gifts that all sit under £30. Our Little Donkey guide collects them together.

Where can I buy handmade Christmas gifts in London?

Fodder is an independent homeware and lifestyle shop in Hampstead, at Unit 3, 12 Heath Street, NW3 6TE, stocking handmade work from around 40 British makers. Shop in person or online at shopfodder.com, with UK-wide delivery and local collection.

Do you gift wrap?

Yes. We can add twine to our standard protective tissue and if you add a sheet of wrapping paper to your order, we can wrap and add some Fodder blue ribbon for a real festive feel. Add your note in the order comments at checkout with an idea of what you are thinking and any note for the recipient (we can send directly for you), or ask in the shop and we'll sort it there.

When is the last day to order for Christmas delivery?

The last order date for guaranteed UK Christmas delivery is Sunday 20 December 2026. You can also collect from the Hampstead shop right up to Christmas Eve.

The last order date for deliveries to the USA and Canada is Sunday 13th December 2026.

Do you sell gift cards or vouchers?

Yes. A Fodder gift voucher lets them choose their own handmade piece, which is ideal when you're not sure what to get or you've left it late. Buy it online, we'll deliver it by email, and it can be spent in the Hampstead shop or at shopfodder.com.

Are your gifts ethically made?

95% of everything we sell is made by hand by an independent British maker we know by name, and we buy direct so makers are paid fairly and upfront. Nothing is mass-produced and nothing is made for landfill. When you buy from Fodder, you're supporting a real person's practice.
