Bio
Sophie Alda is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and maker working primarily in clay, paper, paint, and print. Her practice spans functional design, decorative objects, and fine art pieces—crafted with a distinctive, playful approach to colour and texture. Sophie is a founding member of artist-led studio cooperatives in London and Bristol, operating since 2014. These spaces reflect her commitment to fostering democratic, collaborative environments where artists and designers can share skills, ideas, and resources. She is also an experienced facilitator and educator. Since 2015, she has developed and delivered creative workshops and educational programming for leading arts organisations, including Tate, Camden Art Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, Crafts Council, and Somerset House.
