Hand-thrown stoneware serving plate with a pie crust folded rim. Lily decorates each one with what she calls infinite butterfly slip decoration, a looping chain of trailed cream slip running down the centre, scattered with dots, under a warm amber or tin white glaze.

The middle of three sizes, and the most versatile. Made for sharing plates, a tart, roasted vegetables, or a proper spread.

Slip trailing is done by hand, so the pattern flows differently across every plate.

Mostly made in green nicotine, with the occasional one in white. Each is a one-off.

Bio

Lily Pearmain is a self taught potter living and working in South East London. She is driven by experimenting with processes and approaches to clay as a material, often using simple forms. Predominantly she uses the potters wheel. The work draws on British studio ceramics and the desire to make good, quiet, beautiful, and strong pots.
